Assiniboine

The weather forecast was clear, the bags packed, huts booked............unfortunately someones appendix decided to act up and needed to be cut out. Personally I think this was just an excuse so that Kip could take the helicopter in instead of walking. The things some people will do...

Taka-what-ya-call-it

We made a last minute decision to do the iceline in Yoho National Park this week. Unfortunately all the campsites on the trail and the hut were booked up. We instead stayed at the Takakkaw falls campground (you cant drive in but you do get to use a rickshaw).

A slave carrying goods for his master.

Friday evening.

Up on the iceline.

Jo and glaciers.

Jo is pointing to what we thought was Mt Gordon. It is actually Mt Rhonda. Mt Gordon is above and to the right of her hat (the reason why this is important is that we have been up both of these on skis via the wapta icefield).

Dinner back at the campsite. Takakkaw (dont ask Jo to pronounce it) falls in the background.
