Shoulder Season

Me and shoulder season have a love hate relationship. I love it when it dumps and you get to ski pow in late April , but I hate it when you go hiking and you have to turn back because the trail resembles a bobsled course. Yea, we have a tough life.

Fair Trade

Its Fair Trade Week, so what better time to go out and buy some fairly traded stuff. Fair trade means that people in developing countries get a fair deal for the produce they grow and products they make. Check out this website to find out more:

Beautiful Burstall

The past two Saturdays we have ski toured up to Burstall Pass in Kananaskis Country. Last weekend we took Scott, Jos brother on his first backcountry outing. He did pretty well for a first timer. A small amount of psychological damage was done, but nothing that should leave any permanent scars.

This past Saturday, we decided to celebrate the coming of summer (although you wouldnt know it if you stayed within Calgary city limits) by carting a BBQ to the top of Burstall and having a snag and a beer in the snow. As it turned out, we had a perfect day.

Of course some skiing was done as well.
