So we have these free swiss rail passes and a day off. We decided to head to the hills and check out the sights around Interlaken. We were not dissapointed. Unfortunately, these picutes dont do the place justice.

Neurons make pretty pictures

So this week we started in the lab imaging live neurons transfected with different glowing things. Heres a picture we took yesterday of some hippocampal neurons expressing red fluorescent protein. Yea, science is cool.

Rogers pass has everything. Waist deep powder in winter. Excellent hiking in summer. And an all you can eat buffet at the park lodge (that's next on our Canadian to do list).
