Throw another shrimp on the barbie

It is a pilgrimage that all "kiwis" must do. Back to the homeland once a year (or so) to recharge the batteries and get reacquainted with our much beloved Aotearoa. On this trip we made a dangerous foray into the evil land of Australia, known for its dangerous koalas and loud mouthed white "natives". We emerged unscathed, if not a big soggy.

First purchase off the plane in Sydney: a typhoon strength umbrella.

Be that a thunderstorm a brewin on thee horizon? Why yes. A bloody big one.

Stroll amongnst the scribbly gums in between downpours.

White sands.

But the real reason for the trip was to see my little bro get married to his lovely fiancee Aleshia. The aforementioned storms cleared 20 min before the wedding and it turned out to be a fantastic afternoon.

All dressed up with the folks.

Bride and groom.

After the festivities we made our way back to the motherland for some much needed Vit D (and to catch up with Jo's half of the family).

The Wilson clan at Lake Tekapo.

Ahoy?

Towards middle earth we did venture (Rob Roy Glacier, Matukituki Vally)

No Jo, you cant ski that line.

Happy as a pig in......

Following day up old shrimpy (Makarora).

A quick dip before dinner.

Its true.

Gratuitous sheep shot (Sorry I made you scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page to see it Paddy).
