On the Wapta

We compiled a team of backcountry experts for an assault on the Wapta icefield this past weekend. Laura, Brian, Nick, Lindsey, Jo and myself hauled both ourselves and packs laden with port and meat sticks up to bow hut on Friday. Saturday, we made a quick trip up Mt Gordon where Jo added to the summit cairn and Sunday we laid a few more turns above the hut before making our way back out to civilization and Laggans bakery. All and all, a great long weekend.

On the way up through the canyon.

"So how many times does the rope coil around my legs before ending in a birds nest of a knot?"
-discussions on the finer details of glacier travel.
