Gone tramping

With a long weekend to kill, we decided to try out our first 2 night tramp since getting back to NZ. The plan was to head up the West Matukituki valley to Aspiring Hut and then on up to French ridge hut and out on the third day. However with gale force winds and a severe rainfall warning we retreated after the first night. Maybe next time.

Looking up towards Mt Aspiring, French ridge is the second on the right.

Shit storm racing down the valley.

Hello Karl and Jo,

I'm happy to find you well in NZ. Here in Quebec, winter have been good for us. It's smelling spring now.

After our trip to Guatemala, Suzane and I returned back home and worked hard since then. I did a big clean up in my photos. You can see the one I kept at:

(do *not* require Facebook account)

Also, I got a new dog. My first "big" dog. A nice Labrador named Maya (guess why?)

Keep posting your photos and giving news!

Bye,

Tramping has a totally different meaning in Canada. Mostly refers to 30 something single women out at the bar looking for "love".

Miss you guys!
