Christmas in Cranbrook

The Canada lonely planet describes the town of Cranbrook as follows.....

"This town is a depressingly workaday place consisting of a main drag thats essentially one huge strip mall, plus an old downtown area with little charm (and some even less charming lowlifes). Skip it and head on to either Kimberly or Creston."

You may expect the locals to be somewhat offended by this description of their town, but I get the impression that they don’t mind too much if there aren’t hippy tourists skiing their pow.
Jo and I love going to Cranbrook and have been lucky enough to spend the past 3 Christmas’s there with the Maudies who treat us like family. Awesome food, lots of laughs and the skiing is pretty good too.

Kenny supervises the annual Brookview Bombers Christmas day hockey game. He did not want to bust his hip on the ice and jeopardise skiing.

Bob was burning the wrappings in his new outfit while Mother Christmas herself was watching on as we dug into our stockings.

Frosted tips.

Jo shreddin somewhere in the Purcells.

The kids on Christmas morning.

Jo and I getting fresh tracks, location classified.

Some of the locals at the hockey game.

Paddy looking for a line through the trees. The trees need to be pretty wide apart for this big fulla.
